A conservatory is one of the most popular home improvements for homeowners in the East Midlands looking to extend their space with an impressive new room that can be used for anything they like. Modern conservatories create a space for families to enjoy all year round, giving them somewhere to enjoy those long summer nights in the garden and a place to cosy up under the stars during winter.
If you’re looking to get the most out of your outside areas, whilst adding essential space, light, and kerb appeal, here is another recent example of our exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail.
This family wanted to extend their home and create more space, but energy efficiency was also something high on their list of important features. For this reason, after a free design consultation with our experts, we decided to build a thermally efficient extension using Deceuninck uPVC 2800 Heritage windows and French doors. We combined this with an Ultraframe roof, that uses innovative Ultra 86 glazing, finished with a plastered LivinRoom pelmet.
If you haven’t encountered the term pelmet before now, you may be wondering exactly what it means and how it could benefit you. The Ultraframe pelmet system, known as LivinRoom, can be installed as part of your Ultraframe conservatory roof. The ceiling pelmet sits internally around the perimeter of the extension, giving the illusion of a flat roof with a lantern roof on top.
The pelmet has a plastered finish and provides the perfect place to install speakers or spotlights. An Ultraframe pelmet installed by Stormclad will provide more than just aesthetic value though. It will also stop thermal transfer and keep your new room warm with its insulated cavity, making it both decorative and energy-efficient.
With a more classic aesthetic in mind, white Heritage uPVC frames were chosen alongside a pair of timeless French doors to match. uPVC remains one of the most popular home improvement materials in Britain and it’s not hard to understand why. uPVC is known for its thermally efficient properties and will make a noticeable difference to the comfort of your home, reducing heat loss, keeping it warmer and more insulated. What’s more, our uPVC windows can come in any style and a wide variety of colours and finishes whilst also being extremely low maintenance. To complete the look, this family opted for an elegant white uPVC decorative cornice gutter.
To further help this new conservatory to be as energy-efficient as possible, it was decided we would finish it with innovative Ultra 86 glazing. Effectively reducing glare, controlling extreme temperatures, and remaining low maintenance thanks to proactive self-cleaning glass, the thermally sound Ultraframe glazed roof is supported by highly-insulative solid walls, as well as high-performance windows and doors.
Our highly-experienced team supported this family from the initial design consultation right through to the installation and completion of their new conservatory to ensure that the brief was fulfilled to a high standard.
The conservatory is a beautiful addition to the home. It provides superb thermal efficiency and excellent security so that the homeowners can enjoy views of their garden all year around.
