Distinctive gable-fronted conservatory in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

When space, light and height are essential to creating a fantastic focal point in the home, homeowners throughout the East Midlands often opt for the statuesque gable-end conservatory style. A variant on the rectangular Edwardian conservatory style, the distinctive difference being the gable-end conservatory doesn't slope back to the centre – instead, it features an impressive triangular, high vaulted roof which is where it takes its name from.

So, if you like the sound of considerably increasing space, light and height at home, our latest conservatory case study is for you!

Pain Points

Our latest home improvement project took us just 15 miles of Nottingham to the modest market town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Following an in-depth free design consultation, the challenge here was to create a spacious conservatory that precisely resembled a modern orangery structure.

The Solution

Gable fronted conservatory with rustic pillars built in Nottingham

Rustic slate pillars

To create the splendor of an opulent orangery structure, super-insulated pillars were incorporated and finished with an authentic rustic slate effect for a unique touch of class.

SMARTGLASS® Ultra 86 conservatory roof

Combined with the industry-leading Ultraframe roof and high-performance Ultra 86 roof glazing, this space promises year-round enjoyment whatever the weather. Offering self-cleaning glass technology as standard, these Kirkby customers can look forward to reduced heating costs, better acoustics, reduced solar glare, and a heightened sense of satisfaction every time they use their new conservatory space.

The Results

Grey on white casement windows and sliding patio doors

Neutral yet striking, the customer chose a modern grey conservatory, window, and door frames outside, and clean white frames inside to effortlessly complement and enhance interior and exterior aesthetics. Top opening double glazed casement windows were chosen for their easy operation and secure ventilation features. Finished off with a practical grey on white sliding patio door allows for an even greater sense of light and space. User friendly, these sleek sliders are the ideal accompaniment for maximising the space – enabling any location to achieve its ultimate potential.
